Each of Westhab's family shelters provides a Child Care Room, where parents may leave their young children, ages 2 months through 5 years of age, while they attend training programs, interviews, school, part-time work, appointments, etc. Parents are asked to call to reserve a spot, and to provide basic information about their child, including emergency phone numbers.

The Child Care Rooms are safe, child-friendly places, staffed by caring adults. The rooms are equipped with cribs, child-size furniture, age-appropriate toys and books, and a variety of materials for creative artwork.

The staff members are calm and responsive to the children's needs. Their consistent expectations and stable routines provide the children with a welcome sense of security.
