Responsibilities: Responsible for identfying needs,
planning programs, obtaining resources including collaborations
with other providers, overseeing and insuring the effectiveness
of services, and continuous improvement activities, for
families served by the agency. We are seeking an experienced,
effective entrepreneurial leader.

Responsibilities: Helping to plan and implement community-based
programs for severly under-served neighborhood in Yonkers,
New York. Assisting in building and maintaining colloborative
relationships with neighborhood stakeholders. Planning and
Designing a new community center in collaboration with the
Federal Weed & Seed steering committee.
This is a volunteer opportunity that includes a monthly
stipend. Upon completion of the assignment, Vista's are
eligible for either a choice of Education award or end of
service stipend.

new Internet tools for Westhab in marketing and fund raising
purposes. Researching and developing new volunteer recruitment
and retention strategies. Planning and implementing fund-raising
events.
This is a volunteer opportunity that includes

related experience. Must have knowledge of Dreamweaver version
9. and Web marketing. Manipulation of images and graphics

Job Title:
Program Development/Grant Writing AmeriCorps*Vista
Location: Yonkers
Reports To: Program Development Administrator
Responsibilities: Maintaing and growing supportive
programs that enable homeless and low-income clients of
all ages gain skills, personal competencies, and confidence,
to enable them to move out of poverty and dependence and
into self-sufficient lives. Brainstorming on new program
initiatives and performing related research, data collection
and analysis, strategic thinking, report writing and presentations.
Researching public and private funding sources for new programs
and for maintaining/expanding existing supportive services.
Collaborating on grant applications and reports required
by funders. Assisting with the productionm of Westhab's
annual report and newsletters.
This is a volunteer opportunity that includes

Job Title:
Life Skills Worker
Location: Yonkers
Reports To: Service Coordinator
Responsibilities: Provides training
in a variety of daily living skills to homeless families
and single households who reside in transitional housing
apartments and homeless shelters, as well as to formerly
homeless families who have relocated to permanent housing.
Involves traveling to apartments throughtout Westchester
County, primarily in Southeast Yonkers and Southeast, Mount
Vernon. Also involves conducting life skills workshops throughout
Westchester County. Monitors clients compliance and reinforce
all rules of occupancy.
Experience & Education: Bachelor's
degree preferred, but not required. Two to three years experience
as a Vocational Counselor, Life Skills Worker or Case Manager.
Has knowledge of family strengthening and/or daily living
skills techniques and information. Should be willing to
attend NYS Family Development Training & Credentialing
Program. Computer literacy strongly desired. Must possess
valid NYS driver's license and daily access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities: Ensure that all clients in caseload
are assessed and referred for the appropriate services.

with low-income/homeless population. Bilingual (Spanish)

Childcare Supervisor
Location: White Plains
Reports To: Youth Services Supervisor
Responsibilities: Creates and oversees
developmentally appropriate, nurturing, and stimulating
environment for infants and young children. Creates developmentally
- age appropriate haven for young children that meet their
physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs. Assesses
children's developmental needs and plans appropriate activities
for each child. Maintains complete files on all participating
children including child-care contract, emergency information,
current physical and immunizations and anecdotal log. Prepares
monthly report that describes utlization of room, highlights
each child's strengths, and needs. Supervises Assistant
Teachers and volunteers.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in
related field with 2+ years experience is preferred. Consideration
will also be taken for an Associate's degree in related
field with 4+ years experience.

Caseworker (2 Openings)
Location: White Plains & Yonkers
Reports To: Senior Caseworker
Responsibilities: Ensure all clients
in caseload are assessed and referred for the appropriate
services. Conducts orientation of all family members to
the Shelter Program. Maintains accurate, complete and current
files on all clients in caseload. Determines all family
members' needs and develops a service plan to address all
needs. Advocates on behalf of clients to secure social services
entitlements.
Education & Experience: Requires
a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of social service experience
preferably with low-income/homeless population. Must possess
good verbal/written communication and computer skills.

Job Title:
Part-time Youth Counselor, Elm Street Neighborhood Center
Location: Yonkers
Reports To: Elm Street Neighborhood Center Site Supervisor
Responsibilities: The Youth Counselor will work as a team member to provide academic, recreational and social skills programming to the school age children/young adults attending the Elm Street Neighborhood Center. Provides direct services to the children/young adults in the context of a normative community model. Creates a group environment that promotes and expects positive behavioral norms. Helps create a safe haven for neighborhood youth.
Experience, Education and Special Requirements: College degree or some college preferred. Previous experience working with children and/or young adults is essential. Experience working with low-income population preferred. Must enjoy the challenges involved with working with youth who may present a number of academic and social deficits. Upbeat, engaging personality desirable. Program hours include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Title:
Shift Supervisor/Client Care Monitor
Location: White Plains
Reports To: Director of Security
Responsibilities: Perform responsible work involving
a variety of specialized assignments in a homeless shelter.
Train new security employees in all aspects of the facility.
Assist Facility Manager by preparing and executing fire
drills and other procedures. Ensure that all documentation/reports
are clear and concise. Provide leadership in emergency situations
within the security department. Fulfulls all job responsibilities
of a Client Care Monitor.
Experience & Education: Associate degree in social
services, criminology or related field; or equivalent experience.
General knowledge of security systems; ability to solve
problems; ability to make decisions based on factual information;
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with others; ability to present ideas effectively, either
orally or in writing; and ability to prepare written reports.
Must be able to work flexible days and hours. Must be New
York State Certifiable.

Custodian

Reports To: Lead custodian
Responsibilities: Performs all related
duties to maintain a safe and clean facility, including
interior and exterior grounds. Completes all scheduled custodial
duties in accordance with custodian cleaning checklist.
Assists with minor maintenance and building repairs. Performs
other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education: High School
Diploma or GED required. Previous experience or work history
with the ability and desire to learn building custodial
services. Experience with buffing equipment and following
directions a must. Must have the ability to complete an
agency incident report. Ability to maintain effective working
relationships with others, ability to communicate appropriately
with client population and to exhibit patience and understanding
toward client population being served. Position requires
some weekend and/or evening hours.

or in and around facilities, emergency apartments, and properties

diploma or equivalent. Must be NY State Certifiable. Experience
in a human service environment is preferred. Good writing
skills and phone manner essential. Possess the ability to
identify problems and behaviors of MICA clients. Abillity
to use CPI techniques when necessary. Car and/or knowledge
of public transportation system. Home phone is mandatory.
Hours: 40 hours/week. Must be able
to work flexible shifts, days, holidays and overtime.
