Westhabs goal is to provide homeless single
adults and families safe, decent, temporary housing that includes
all the supportive services necessary to enable them to find
permanent affordable housing and, ultimately, achieve self-sufficiency.
Since the causes of homelessness vary, Westhab
provides a "hierarchy" of transitional housing facilities,
to provide appropriate measures of security and service to
meet each homeless family or individual's needs.
Westhab manages 394 homeless housing units in
Westchester County. These include a family
homeless shelters; a single adult
shelter; single-room-occupancy housing; special
needs facilities; owned and
managed facilities; and
scattered site housing.
