Westhab's mission is to provide safe,
affordable housing and supportive services as
needed, to help people improve their quality of
life; and to help create secure communities in
under-served neighborhoods.
Westhab's Vision Statement: We envision
Westhab as a leading force in helping Westchester
County and its surrounding regions to achieve
a society where: All citizens live in safe, quality,
affordable housing in secure neighborhoods where
comprehensive municipal and human services are
readily available. Everyone lives up to his/her
potential. Those who require it, receive support
for themselves and to one another. All children
receive the nurturing and supports they need to
grow into healthy and productive adults. A broad
spectrum of educational, job training, career
and business opportunities are available so that
people can earn a decent living and maintain a
comfortable quality of life.
We envision Westhab as a company that: Provides
a broad scope of programs that are creative and
effective in helping people and communities achieve
their potential. Is properly managed, financially
secure and with a broad base of support. Employs
caring and talented people who choose to work
at Westhab because they embrace our mission, and
because they are appreciated, challenged, and
supported by their co-workers and management.

Westhab's staff formally adopted the following
Values Statement on November 8, 2001, and
reviews it quarterly, at staff meetings, to insure
that it remains fresh in our minds and serves
a s a focal point for our efforts:
Westhab is a human services organization where
values are of central importance, both in what
we do and how we do it. The following are the
values most important to us:
INTEGRITY: We have the moral conviction to put
our principles into action. We are honest in our
work, and are accountable, even in the face of
adversity.
PROFESSIONALISM:
We have a shared commitment to the highest standards
of conduct and performance in all the things we
do.
RESPECT:
We recognize the dignity and worth of each person
we encounter and strive to treat others as we
would want to be treated. We are sensitive to
the pride and cultures of those who may be different
from us.
Remembering these values and incorporating them
into our work every day strengthens our ability
to serve those in need and enhances our efforts
to create community within our programs.
